Outreach Programs

We wish to share the resources and skills that we have amongst us and at the same time learn from people who are placed in a different context.

The outreach programme at The Valley School is a conscious effort to reach out to the children of the villages around. The programme is both initiated and driven by a group of teachers, parents and senior students who believe in the cause and wish to be part of the initiative.

The children from these villages go to Government or Government-aided schools in the neighbourhood. Their access to laboratories, libraries, and open spaces to play is limited. The outreach programme attempts to address some of these concerns with a regular academic programme, supplementary classes on Spoken English, hands-on experiments based on the science curriculum, and library activities.

Additionally, on a few Saturdays, students from these schools are invited to spend a day with art, music, storytelling, and games at The Valley School campus. Presently, the volunteers of the Outreach programme are working with three neighbouring schools.
